International flooring specialists Gerflor are proud once again to be the Premier Sponsor supporting the Royal Institute of Architects Ireland (RIAI) awards programme 2019. Founded in 1839, the RIAI supports and regulates the architectural profession promoting both their values and contributions.

This year the RIAI is celebrating 30 years of the RIAI Architecture Awards, one of the longest running and most prestigious architectural awards. The purpose of the Awards is to promote the quality of current work by RIAI Members at home and abroad and to create awareness of the impact that architects make to society for everyone’s benefit. The RIAI seeks to provide architects with the professional training, education and research support required to consolidate the role of the RIAI. Now in their 30th year, the RIAI Irish Architecture Awards are the premier architectural awards in Ireland. The RIAI Awards are considered by both the public and the profession as the most valued architecture awards in Ireland, resulting in strong promotion of the value of good architecture.

The awards are made over several categories and the RIAI Awards offer a fascinating insight into current architectural practice in Ireland and tell the story of what is happening in Ireland’s built environment. The award categories are as insightful as they are far-reaching and include everything from; Cultural and Public Buildings through to Public Spaces, Urban Design together with Innovation and Sustainability. The annual awards are therefore very prestigious and the competition for shortlisting has been extremely fierce. The adjudication process is now underway and the RIAI Awards will be announced at the RIAI Summer Party on Friday 7th June at the Round Room, The Mansion House in Dublin.
